Oracle Tackles Java Barcode Package

by Nate Schubert

On July 15, Tim Dexter over at the Oracle BI Publisher Blog released Part 1 of an interesting piece aimed toward providing ways mutual customers of Oracle and IDAutomation can use the Java Barcode Packages to create barcodes with Oracle Reports.

As many of our customers already know, the IDAutomation Java Barcode Package is compatible with Oracle Reports 9i, 10g or higher with support for many barcode types including Code 39, Code 128, GS1-128, Intelligent Mail, PDF417, DataMatrix, MaxiCode and more.

Each package contains a servlet, applet, JavaBean and class library for a variety of options to create barcodes using Java. The IDAutomation Java Barcode Package is best to use in web reporting and local reports.

We'll look forward to Part 2 of Dexter's piece, where he'll focus more on the java class approach, and find some ways that Oracle Reports users can get even greater benefits from Java barcode reporting. Thanks, Tim!

Update: Unfortunately, Part 2 was never published over at the Oracle BI Publisher Blog.
