The PF8t with 12.7 mm ribbon core

Intermec is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the PF8t Thermal Transfer printer with 12.7 mm (0.5 inch) ribbon core option which will allow our customers and partners to continue to use the same high quality media and ribbons that they have used with the PC4 desktop printers. The new printers will also allow easy migration from competitor’s desktop printers with 0.5 inch ribbon core and EPL printer language.

PF8t is now available with either 12.7 mm (0.5 inch) ribbon core or 25.4 mm (1.0 inch) core Thermal Transfer in addition to the PF8d Direct Thermal version. Please note: It is not possible to modify current PF8t printers with the 25.4 mm (1.0 inch) core to a 12.7 mm (0.5 inch) core. This is a factory built option only.

PF8t is a compact, sturdy, quiet printer, ideal for healthcare, government, office, or retail environments printing less than two rolls of labels per day. Typical applications include Office shipping, asset and file labels, Manufacturing or Retail product labels, Retail shelf labeling, and Healthcare file, patient record, laboratory and specimen labeling.

The low price combined with a competitive feature set make PF8 the best value in a desktop printer.

Features include:

Compact desktop printers for applications where space is limited
Connect to Print™ for easy set up
High throughput with print speeds up to 4 inches per second
Choice of 203 or 300 dpi print resolution
Longest ribbon length in a desktop printer for the 25.4 mm (1.0 inch) core, with a capacity of 274 m. The 12.7 mm (0.5 inch) core version has a 100 m ribbon length.
USB v.2.0 interface, RS232 and Centronics/Parallel come standard
More memory for faster printing of logos, pictures, or long labels (32 bit processor versus 16 bit processor in the PC4). The PF8t Flash memory can also be expanded up to 1 GB with an optional Compact Flash card slot module that includes a real time clock (RTC) to time stamp labels when printed for perishable items or time sensitive products.
