New Product: Barcode Scanner ASCII String Decoder
New Hardware: Access Control Systems
Security card access systems provide total-control access to buildings or certain areas by limiting admittance and/or setting time-of-day restrictions. With the KeyScan Access Control System, an individual can pass their contactless or proximity access card in front of the card reader where the reader will decrypt the "max secure code" and authenticate it with a 3-pass encryption/decryption to unlock the algorithm. The credential is then sent to the access control management software to verify the access availability through KeyScan's proprietary 36-bit Wiegand protocol. The K-SECURE Mifare credential provides anti-counterfeiting protection using Keyscan’s Max Secure encryption technology on ‘over the air’ transmission between the reader and card.

This free software application reveals non-visible or hidden commands in addition to ASCII characters from keyboard emulation devices, such as a USB Barcode Scanner. This barcode decoder application is beneficial in determining if non-printable ASCII commands such as FS (file separator), RS (record separator), GS (group separator), and EOT (end of transmission) have been encoded in a barcode symbol. More information and a free download of the product may be found at: http://www.idautomation.com/scanner-decoder/
Source code is available with the purchase of any IDAutomation product with a developer license and active support subscription.
