DataBar Coupon Barcode

DataBarAll coupons should now include the GS1 DataBar barcode and a GTIN 12 (UPC-A) code according to the Joint Industry Coupon Committee (JICC). In January 2010, only the GS1 DataBar barcode will be required on coupons. A GS1 Databar Coupon Tutorial has been created to assist customers in generating coupon barcodes.

IDAutomation offers the DataBar font, Databar Windows Forms Control and the DataBar Image Generator to create Expanded Databar barcodes.

The following is a list of hand-held barcode scanners that read DataBar Coupon Codes to assist with testing:



New Product: GS1 DataBar Barcode Font

GS1 DataBar Barcode Fonts by IDAutomation.GS1 DataBar is a new barcode type that is over 50% smaller than current UPC and EAN barcodes and may be used in all POS systems after January 1, 2010. It encodes GTIN, UPC and EAN data and may include additional information such as weight, expiration date and serial numbers in a single barcode. The IDAutomation GS1 DataBar Barcode Font Package includes TrueType, OpenType, PostScript and PCL fonts that support all DataBar variants including Omni-directional, Limited, Stacked and Expanded types.

The download is available at http://www.idautomation.com/fonts/databar/ and includes encoders in VB, Java, C++ and .NET for Windows, MAC, Linux and Unix operating systems.

Product Update: Aztec Font and Encoder Advantage Package


Aztec Font and Encoder by IDAutomation.The Java Class Library has been added to the Aztec Font and Encoder Advantage Package. The Java class file was compiled with the Sun JDK 1.3 and is compatible with Windows, MAC, Unix and Linux.

This Aztec barcode font uses IDAutomation Vertical Interleaved Technology to print high-density Aztec symbols with TrueType, PCL and PostScript fonts. Includes Signed ActiveX Control with CAB file, ASP.NET Web Control, .NET Forms Control DLL and Java Library plus examples for Excel, Word, Access, Java, .NET and Crystal Reports.

Product Update: Barcode Image Generator


Barcode Image Generator by IDAutomation.New updates in this 2009 release include better support of GS1-128 barcodes, USPS Intelligent Mail and various compatibility and performance improvements. This professional grade application is used to easily create and paste barcodes into other Windows applications or generate high quality graphic image files. Commonly used with PhotoShop, Quark and Publisher. Command line options are also available for creating bar codes in DOS. Easy-to-use features include settings and properties of the barcode are retained for ease of use, images are easily copied to the clipboard with one click for quick pasting into other applications, and the image file names may be auto generated from the data of the barcode to save time.

If you have an active Priority Support agreement, log into the IDAutomation store and go to “Account” located in the upper right hand corner. On the Account screen, there will be a list of Recent Orders with a summary of what each order contains if there is more than one. Click on the "View Order" button of the order that contains the software to download. The download will be located under Digital Goods section of the online Invoice.

If the purchase was made prior to Dec 2005 through RegNow/Digital River, please contact us with your order ID number and we will send you the updated download link.

For customers who do not purchase the Priority Support and Upgrade Subscription, support is limited to our online knowledge base and the product support site. Product updates are only provided to customers with an active Priority Support and Upgrade Subscription.
