Barcode Tattoo

The police in Northern Ireland are looking for a man with a barcode tattoo. Have they checked my gallery of barcode tattoos yet?The arm is atypical. The back of the neck seems to be the de facto standard location. Me? I'm decidedly un-inked.

Linear + 2D Native Barcode Generator:

Microsoft Access Native Barcode Generators:

The Native Barcode Generator for Microsoft Access has been updated to include new graphic drawing routines, improved compatibility for low resolution printers, USPS OneCode support and orientation parameters. This new product also eliminates the issue of horizontal lines that could sometimes appear in the barcode symbols.

The Native Generator is an object that may be easily inserted into an Access Report to create barcode images. Once installed, no other components or fonts need to be installed to create barcodes; it is the complete barcode generator that stays in the report, even when it is distributed or accessed from a server.

The Linear version includes the supported linear symbologies of Code 39, Code 128, UCC/EAN-128, MSI, Interleaved 2 of 5, PostNet, USPS OneCode and the 2D version includes the linear barcodes plus PDF417 and Data Matrix symbologies

More information about the IDAutomation Native Barcode Generator for Microsoft Access, including a download for evaluation, is provided at: http://idautomation.com/access/native/.

If the product was purchased and you would like to obtain the update, please refer to the Priority Support and Upgrade Subscription Renewal section of this newsletter.

Note: The demo versions of these products may be used for evaluation purposes only.

IDAutomation Plug 'n Play USB Barcode Wand:

We have just lowered the price of our popular IDAutomation Plug 'n Play USB Barcode Wand to just $99. The W3USB barcode wand is a cost effective solution for low reading volume applications. The internal decoder and interface eliminates the cost and clutter of a separate decoder box. The advanced optics scan barcodes as small as 4 mil with a scan velocity of 2-20 inches per second. Its shape gives the W3USB better comfort and handling compared to other pen based readers. Pull the trigger button and sweep the tip of the wand across the bar code in either direction and listen for the beep that lets you know the data has been successfully captured.

The W3USB wand connects via a USB port, perfect for laptops and PDA devices. It contains its own built-in decoder so information scanned appears as if it had been typed from the keyboard.

For more information about the IDAutomation Plug 'n Play USB Barcode Wand, please visit: http://www.idautomation.com/wands/w3usb.html

This scanner can be shipped internationally for an additional cost.

Retail Teamwork in STORES mag

In the May issue of STORES magazine is an article featuring Retail Teamwork, "Just Sports Scores Big with New Replenishment System."

"[Kevin] Palmer says that Just Sports, which replenishes its stores overnight from a warehouse no more than three hours away from any of the stores, urgently needed a computerized system that would let it keep track of the inventory at the warehouse... Just Sports is completely dependent on the warehouse to replenish what each store has sold the day before. In researching possible solutions, Palmer and Just Sports president Kelly Roberts found Clearwater, Fla.-based Retail Teamwork, which was developing an integrated, all-in-one solution for specialty retailers."

Retail Teamwork is the product of Michael Mauerer, the creator of Retail Pro and other retail software, and was released in January of this year. Mauerer developed the software with an SQL database and a live data stream, making it the first live system in its price range. This streaming technology allows retailers to get data in real time without polling, and enables them to respond quickly.
