We have recently updated the linear version of our Java Barcode Packages with the following improvements:

  • Enhancements to the POSTNET, Planet, Code 128, UCC128, Code 39, and Interleaved 2 of 5 symbologies.
  • More efficient and consistent rotation algorithms.
  • New Features include:
    • New USPS OneCode symbology added.
    • Character grouping - which allows the human readable text to be grouped together in 3, 4, or 5 character groups for easier readability.
    • Bearer Bars - Horizontal and vertical bearer bar options are
      now available. Thickness of the bars is configurable from 0 (default) to 10 times the XDimension.
    • Text Margin - The space between the human readable text and the barcode.

IDAutomation.com Announces Support for the USPS OneCode Solution 4-State Customer Barcode.

(Tampa, FL.) IDAutomation.com, Inc. announces the release of their PostNet and OneCode Barcode Font Package. USPS OneCode (also known as the 4-State Customer Barcode, 4CB, 4-CB, OneCode Solution Barcode and USPS4CB) is a height-modulated barcode designed for use in high speed, automated, mail sorting machines that allow both PLANET and POSTNET barcode information to be combined into a single barcode to track mailings, request address-quality services (including updated address-change information) and return-mail service.   • Allow more efficient encoding for Code 128 auto and UPC-E functionality.
  • Bearer bars may be easily created for ITF and all other linear barcode types.
  • White bar increase option increases the amount of white space in the symbol to improve readability by a scanner. This property is commonly used for ink jet printers and for printers that print darker than normal and is similar to pixel shaving.
  • Character grouping property places digits in groups of 3, 4 or 5 to improve readability of the text under the bar code.

5. Datacard Tru Fingerprint Reader

The Datacard Tru Fingerprint solution lets you collect fingerprint templates and then verify those templates against a live person. Simply scan the fingerprint and the Tru Fingerprint software will create and save the mathematical representation of the fingerprint. The Tru Fingerprint solution also lets you capture, store and print a fingerprint image on a card. Although this fingerprint image does not allow for any verification, it does serve as a perceived security feature as it may deter from identity theft.
